I continue to improve. I actually think my memory is better than it was before my Aneurysm but it may be that I just try harder now. As most people over 50 knows, memory is just one of the things that dulls over time but having a sudden decrease in memory function due something like a stroke or brain aneurysm is even more difficult but over the past six months my memory and mood has continued to improve and I suspect it may be due to the drug Deplin and the 150 minutes of walking I do each week.
Deplin is a perscription form of what our bodies create from Folic Acid something we get from mostly green vegtables but something meat eating adults don't get enough of. My research indicates that Folic Acid helps regulate many of the harmones that regulate mood. I believe it to be true. It and the exercise has helps me greatly and two months ago my wife started taking 1000 mcg of folic acid a day and it has taken 15 years off her mental outlook on life. Just in case I have deficienties in other B vitamins we both have recently starting take a Sublingual form that has 2500 mcg of B12, 800 mcg of Folic Acid, 6 mg of B6 and 100 mcg of Biotin. These are vitamins for which there is no known over dose level, most of it the body doesn't even asorb, and somethng that those of us over the age of 55 just don't get enough of. I am not running a commerical for vitamines but I would recommend anyone stuggling with difficult days and memory to give this a try for 60 days and see if it doesn't improve both their outlook on life and their memory function.
I am looking forward to Spring.
